Pilates during and after pregnancy
A pregnant body changes from one month to the next, and a session should change with it. Every session here is private, so it is shaped around how you are that day and there is no class to keep up with. Yonatan teaches most of our prenatal and postpartum clients, and Jaime's training as a personal trainer includes pre and postnatal fitness.
What a client said
Samantha trained with Yonatan through her pregnancy and wrote this in a Google review:
"He has an incredible ability to tailor every session to exactly what I need on the day, whether that's adapting to my mood, energy levels or my ever-changing body throughout pregnancy."
More of what clients say is on our reviews page.
During pregnancy
We start from where you are that week. As the belly grows, some of the work is set aside or adjusted for your stage, following what your doctor has advised. The springs on the classical apparatus can help hold you as well as resist you, which makes it easier to keep moving well as your center of gravity shifts.
Breath comes first in every session here, and during pregnancy it matters even more.
After the baby
Once your doctor says you are ready to exercise again, we begin gently, with breath and the deep muscles of the core, and build from there. Carrying and feeding a baby pulls on the neck, shoulders and upper back, so that is often part of the work too. If leaving the house is hard in those early months, the virtual intro session is a first session you can do at home over Zoom.
Your doctor's guidance comes first
We teach movement. We are not your medical team, and we work inside whatever your doctor has told you. Please check with them before you start, and tell us what they said at your first session.
Sessions and pricing
Each session is 55 minutes and one-on-one. The first one is $65. After that a single session is $150, and packages lower the rate. The full list is on our services page.
How to start
Book the $65 intro session, or book a free 15-minute call with Yonatan if you would like to talk it through first.
