Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people usually ask before their first session. If your question is not here, reach out or call us at (310) 499-2221.
How much do private Pilates sessions cost?
Your first session is $65. After that, a single 55-minute private session is $150, and packages bring the per-session rate down: $870 for 6 sessions, $1,680 for 12, $3,240 for 24, or $6,240 for 48. Most clients choose the 12 or the 24. Full details are on our sessions and pricing page.
Do you offer group classes?
No. Every session at our studio is one-on-one. You book the hour and the whole studio is yours, with your teacher's full attention. If you are looking for group reformer classes, we are honestly not the right fit, and that is by design.
Do I need experience to start?
No. Your teacher meets you where you are, whether you have never touched a reformer or have practiced for years. The first session is built around how your body actually moves, not around a level you are supposed to be at.
Do I have to be flexible?
No. Flexibility is something the work builds over time, not something you need to bring with you. Plenty of our clients arrived stiff, with old injuries, or convinced they were "bad at stretching."
What happens in the first session?
It is a real session, not a sales pitch. Your teacher watches how you move, asks about your history and any injuries, and you leave having actually worked. We wrote a full guide: what to expect in your first session.
What should I wear?
Fitted, stretchy clothing you can move in, like leggings and a top that stays put when you bend or lie back. Pilates is done without shoes, so bring grip socks if you have them; bare feet are fine for your first session. Leave the long jewelry at home.
What is classical Pilates?
Classical Pilates follows the method as Joseph Pilates designed it, taught in his intended order and with his intended precision. We train on the Contrology line by Balanced Body, apparatus built to his original specifications. If you are curious how the equipment side compares to mat work, we wrote an honest guide: reformer vs. mat Pilates.
Is it true you also practice Reiki?
Yes, we both are Reiki Masters, and energy work is the other half of our practice. There is a detail we love: Joseph Pilates, the creator of this method, and Mikao Usui, the father of Reiki, were developing their work at the same time, a century ago, one on the body and one on the spirit. Between the two of them, they were working on the whole person. If that side calls to you, it lives at Word of Mouth.
How often should I come?
Most clients settle into one to three sessions a week. Consistency matters more than intensity here; a steady weekly rhythm changes a body in ways an occasional hard workout never will.
Is Pilates safe during pregnancy?
For most people yes, with a teacher who knows what to adapt and your doctor's okay. We work with prenatal and postpartum clients regularly and wrote about it here: is Pilates safe during and after pregnancy?
Where is the studio, and when are you open?
We are at 717 N Highland Ave, STE 6, Los Angeles, CA 90038, in the Hollywood and Melrose area of Los Angeles, close to West Hollywood. We teach Monday through Thursday 7am to 7pm, and Friday 7am to 4pm.
How do I book?
Book your $65 intro session online. After the intro, ongoing sessions and packages are arranged directly with us, and we take payment by Venmo, Zelle, or credit card with a processing fee.
What if I need to cancel?
We ask for 24 hours notice. With that notice your intro is refundable and a package session simply moves; inside that window the session is charged.
